OPENING DAAAAAY!!!!
Hola campers, parents, alumni and other friends!!! It has taken a few days, but the Skyline blog is officially up and running for the summer! So get ready for daily updates, quotes, sweet pics, and other random ramblings throughout the summer!
After many many many months of waiting and planning, our first campers of the summer have arrived!!! Camp opened its doors at 9am and pretty much all the campers were here by 8:30am (true story). Talk about some excited campers AAAAND parents!! But seriously, pretty much all of camp was here by like 10 am, which was AWESOME because the fun was off and running way ahead of schedule!

Just a heads up for our campers that are patiently waiting for their sessions to arrive, we’ve rearranged opening day a little bit this year. Basically, we’ve sped up the process of all the things we have to get done on the first day so that we can get to all the super fuuuun things as soon as possible. SO, as soon as the girls arrived and got settled in they did their get to know you games and went right into campus tours. Then, broke for lunch. Next, we did the newest and fastest picking of the club beads ceremony known to man. Seriously. We knocked out every single age group at one time in a matter of minutes. Then we breezed right into activity sign ups. BAM. DONE. After that, and this is probably the biggest change, everyone got their Skyline Sistersssss! What in the world is a Skyline Sister you ask? Weeeeell, to be perfectly honest, its just a Nutty Buddy with a new name. BUT A COMPLETELY BETTER NEW NAME!!!! Sooo all the younger girls took off their shoes, the older girls pulled one out of our very fancy garbage bags and marched back into the gym and Skyline Sister Heaven was made! Then of course they did a cool handshake and dance!

After dinner, the first club meetings of the session began, where the highly anticipated club elections took place. Aaaand let me tell you, there was some intense campaigning going on! Nominations were made. Speeches were given. Promises of this cup and that cup and spirit reform were made. After much deliberation, a very secretive and techinal vote took place.
There were ties and there run-offs and re-votes. But finally, the 1st session leaders were elected to serve their two week terms!

In other news: Melon built her first campfire!
This campfire, of course, was for the smores the campers were going to be making during their cabin fun nights! Thats right kids, cabin fun night is now the first night time activity of the session! Summerplacers got crazy with some kind of bizarre thing called a “messy relay”. Other cabins did spa nights, tie dying, slip n’ slides, sip n’ strokes etc. I mean these girls definitely put the “fun” in Cabin Fun Night.
